The China Household Electrical Appliances Association has achieved independent self-hosted meetings, and through the formulation of domestic appliance industry development planning recommendations and technology roadmaps, participated in the formulation of domestic and foreign policy standards and regulations, and actively promoted the industry's technological progress and enterprise transformation and development.
On December 18, 2019, in the list of 103 group standard application demonstration projects officially released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association Group Standard T / CHEAA0001-2017 "Smart Appliance Cloud-Cloud Interoperability Standard" was successfully selected . This standard was issued and implemented by the China Household Electrical Appliances Association in November 2017, and it is also the first standard of the association. It innovatively proposes a set of lightweight solutions that can enable direct interconnection and interoperability between intelligent cloud computing servers of different home appliance manufacturers, filling the gaps in cloud-cloud interconnection standards in the domestic Internet of Things field, and has strong international leadership.
Jiang Feng, the chairman of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association, told reporters that since the country launched the decoupling reform of the association's chamber of commerce in 2015, the association feels more responsible. In order to better provide intellectual support for enterprises and industries, realize the dream of home appliances and realize the transformation of home appliances from "made in China" to "made in China," the China Household Electrical Appliances Association standard was officially recorded on the group logo platform in 2016. As of now, A total of 16 standards were issued. These newly developed recommended group standards have promoted the high-quality development of China's home appliance industry.
Statistics show that in 2018, the main business income of China's home appliance industry was 1.5 trillion yuan, the total industry profit was 122.5 billion yuan, and the export value was 68.6 billion US dollars. The products of Haier, Hisense, Gree, Midea and other companies have gone abroad, and some supporting appliance manufacturing companies have also gone abroad to acquire. Today, China's home appliance industry has achieved independent innovation from imitation, introduction, and learning, and has led the intelligent development of home appliances in the Internet era. Not only is China's home appliance industry's industry chain the most tidy, home appliance products are also everywhere in the global market, and they are on a par International big names.
Behind the glory of the domestic appliance industry in China, the shadow of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association can be seen everywhere. They integrate into the industry, go through the same storms, guide the healthy and orderly development of the company with a strong sense of mission and sincere service, promote the industrial technology upgrade and innovation, and make the Chinese home appliance industry one of the industries with international competitiveness and the outstanding of China's manufacturing industry. representative.
Take the lead in reform to lead the development of the industry
In 1988, the first meeting of the Seventh National People's Congress reviewed and approved in principle the institutional reform plan of the State Council. This is the second institutional reform of the State Council. That year, in accordance with the requirements for changing government functions, the Home Appliance Industry Bureau of the former Ministry of Light Industry of China was revoked and the China Household Electrical Appliances Association was established at the end of the year.
Jiang Feng told reporters that although the China Household Electrical Appliances Association at that time was not completely decoupled from the government, the positioning of the association is very clear, that is, to be a good government staff and assistant, to steer the industry's healthy development, and to promote environmental protection in the industry And the engine of energy saving business, paving the way for the domestic and foreign exchange bridges, and constantly improve its own construction.
It is understood that in the 1980s, the scale of China's home appliance industry expanded rapidly, and almost every province has its own TV factory and washing machine factory. But in the 1990s, the problem of overcapacity in home appliances surfaced. At that time, the country basically canceled the special preferential and protection policies for the home appliance industry, the home appliance industry shifted from a planned economy to a market economy, and truly went to market for free competition.
At that time, it was a bad node; now, it is another good node. When the China Household Electrical Appliances Association was born, it was such an era that gave them the opportunity to play a role.
According to Jiang Feng, in the first 10 years after the establishment of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association, not only the “Eighth Five-Year Plan” for appliances and the “Ninth Five-Year Plan” for appliances, but also the relevant departments of the Ministry of Light Industry have completed the A series of technology-related policy plans, such as the "One Five-Year Plan for Technical Progress," laid a foundation for promoting the technological progress of the entire industry.
At the same time, in response to the excessive competition in the market, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association issued the "Civilized Competition, Civilized Business Initiative" to the entire industry, held seminars on price self-regulation in refrigerators, washing machines and other industries, and began to coordinate unjust "price wars." Guided enterprises to attach importance to quality and cherish the brand, and carried out a series of fruitful work, including actively promoting the certification of home appliances, actively participating in the formulation, review and safety certification of home appliance production license rules, and organizing the formulation of some home appliances "Three Guarantees" "Implement management measures, etc.
Relevant data show that in the mid-to-late 1990s, not only did major household electrical appliances companies in China set up technology development centers and product testing centers, many companies' product development has also shifted from focusing on functionality to focusing on environmental protection and energy saving performance.
In 1994, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association organized industry experts to study and formulate the "Research on the Phase-out Strategy of China's Household Refrigeration Industry CFCs", which officially opened the curtain of China's household refrigeration industry CFCs replacement work. In 1999, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association undertook the Global Environment Facility (GEF) China Energy-Saving Freon Replacement Refrigerator for Wide Commercialization of Barrier Elimination Projects. After 7 years of efforts, China's energy efficiency labeling system was formally established, energy-saving products entered the government procurement catalog, the public's awareness of energy conservation was increasing, and energy-saving appliances became mainstream products in the market.
In December 2006, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association was jointly awarded the GEF Project "Special Contribution Award" by the Global Environment Facility, the United Nations Development Program, and the State Environmental Protection Administration (formerly). At the 30th Anniversary of the Montreal Protocol in 2017 and the 29th Conference of the Parties, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association won the "Ozone Protection Partner Award".
Don't fight for the sun and the moon, only for the day and night. In this way, in the next 10 years and another 10 years, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association has issued the China Household Electrical Appliances Association's Convention on the Self-Regulation of the Fair Competition Industry "China Household Appliances Industry" Twelfth Five-Year Plan Development Proposal, Guiding Opinions on the Development of China's Household Appliance Industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period Disorderly competition, embark on the road of transformation and upgrading, and move towards a new era centered on innovative technologies.
"The association has completed decoupling reforms in 2017, and more needs to be done." Jiang Feng said that the association has now started to study the relevant recommendations of the "14th Five-Year Plan" for the development of China's home appliance industry.
Promote corporate technological progress and technological innovation
On October 23, 2019, the 2019 China Household Electrical Appliances Technology Conference hosted by the China Household Electrical Appliances Association was held in Foshan. The theme of the conference is "intelligence, green, quality, materials". Invite domestic and foreign technology pioneers with deep research from artificial intelligence, 5G, information security, smart home, industrial design, lean production, material innovation and other fields. Participants in all areas of the industry provide new ideas and concepts.
Statistics show that in the 10 years from 1999 to 2008, China has become a major home appliance manufacturing country with the largest production scale in the world. However, due to the impact of the international financial crisis in 2008, the growth in the production and export of the home appliance industry has fallen sharply, and the main product output has seen negative growth. The shortcomings of the lack of core competitive products after the sharp increase in the size of the home appliance industry have been revealed.
Jiang Feng said that after China's entry into the WTO, China's home appliance industry is facing new global challenges, and it is urgent to strengthen its core technology and innovation capabilities. To this end, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association has actively strengthened communication and cooperation with international household appliance organizations, and established bilateral exchange mechanisms with household appliance organizations in the United States, the European Union, and Japan to communicate the status and trends of industry, market, and technology development.
In February 2014, representatives of home appliance associations in the United States, the European Union, China, Japan and Mexico signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly create a global home appliance association exchange and cooperation platform-the International Home Appliance Manufacturers Association Roundtable. At the same time, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association provides Chinese household electrical appliances enterprises with a new international perspective and exchange opportunities, helping Chinese household electrical appliances enterprises to enhance their international competitiveness.
In addition, in order to promote corporate technological progress and technological innovation, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association released the first "China's Home Appliance Industry Technology Roadmap" in 2011. Based on future social and market needs, it has adopted the environment, problems, opportunities, and technologies for industrial development. Analysis of development trends, determine the research and development goals and directions of future industrial development, and clarify the technical path, key projects and market prospects for achieving industrial goals. In 2019, the technology roadmap was revised for the third time, taking 2020, 2025, and 2030 as the three time nodes, and proposed the technology development direction and specific indicators of China's home appliance industry in the next 5 years. Suggestions on the technical indicators and development directions to be achieved.
In 2012, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association established the Technical Committee of the Association to gather technical leaders from member companies to exchange and discuss industry technology bottlenecks and technological development directions, determine the priority of industrial technology development, and have formulated refrigerators, air conditioners, Industrial technology roadmap for washing machines, water heaters, kitchen appliances, and rice cookers. At present, there are 13 specialized committees, including room air conditioners, air purifiers, health appliances, electric blankets and Meijian (personal care).
In 2018, under the guidance of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association, 13 Chinese and Korean companies with certain technological advantages in the refrigeration appliance industry formed the refrigeration industry supplier ecosystem. This ecosystem "connects" parts and components that are in "islands" under the traditional supporting model, and provides more valuable integrated services to world-class refrigeration host manufacturers.
According to the data of the State Intellectual Property Office, as of the end of 2018, Haier, Midea and Gree had applied for more than 180,000 patents in China. Customs data shows that in 2018, the independent brands of Haier, Hisense, Gree and Midea's export products accounted for 100%, 60%, 40% and 30% respectively, and the brand's international influence began to emerge.
Serving the industry and society
On March 14, 2019, the 2019 China Home Appliances and Consumer Electronics Expo opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. At this global technology feast under the theme of "AI on Smart Life", the products exhibited by nearly 900 global leading home appliances, consumer electronics, IT Internet companies and core component suppliers not only represented domestic and foreign home appliances and The highest technological standards of consumer electronics companies also reflect the technological development trends of the global home appliance and consumer electronics industries.
Dr. Hu Ziqiang, vice president and CTO of Midea Group, told reporters that the China Household Electrical Appliances and Consumer Electronics Expo, hosted by the China Household Electrical Appliances Association, has become one of the three major home appliance exhibitions in the world. Its increasingly wide-ranging and deepening influence in the world complements the pace of globalization of the Chinese home appliance industry. It not only builds a platform for companies to fully demonstrate their product progress and development strategies, but also allows the world to have a new brand for the Chinese home appliance industry. Understanding and awareness.
Hu Ziqiang believes that the development of China's home appliance industry has benefited from the vigorous promotion of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association, especially the transformation of the home appliance industry from large to strong, and the industry association's leadership is commendable. For example, the annual China Household Appliance Technology Conference not only guides the direction of industry technology development trends, but also opens up ideas for companies to formulate their own research and development strategies. The most important thing is to enable competitors to seriously, sincerely and openly discuss technology as the core topic of enterprise development on this platform, form a good competitive atmosphere, and allow the industry's technological competition to form a healthy competition.
Zhou Yunjie, president of Haier Group, said that the association serves corporate members like corporate customers. For example, in order to meet the industrial technology innovation needs of member units, the Association actively carries out group standard construction, establishes technical committees, professional committees for various products and other platforms, and actively promotes industry technology exchanges and progress. In addition, the Association is anxious for enterprises to play its coordinating role and introduce high-quality resources and talents to the Chinese home appliance industry to the world, which has promoted the internationalization process of the Chinese home appliance industry.
It is understood that since the establishment of the China Household Electrical Appliances Association, on the one hand, it has continuously improved the association's governance mechanism and enhanced the service capabilities of the association; on the other hand, it has begun to collect industry data statistics, and regularly write industry annual development reports and special reports for reference by governments and member companies . In addition, China Household Electrical Appliances Association also participated in the formulation and revision of China RoHS, China WEEE and other home appliance policies and technical regulations.
In 2008, Gasibella Compressor Co., Ltd. was awarded the "Demonstration Project Contribution Award" by the United Nations Environment Programme. The reason why this award can be won is that Gasbela Compressor Co., Ltd. has produced a total of 21.28 million fluorine-free high-efficiency compressors in the past 10 years, thereby saving 23.37 million tons of coal for thermal power generation and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 44.08 million tons.
"Enterprises can win awards thanks to the guidance of industry associations." Zhu Jinsong, general manager and party secretary of Gasibella Compressor Co., Ltd. told reporters that the China Household Electrical Appliances Association's information collection and notification of the development of domestic and foreign home appliance industries has indicated to enterprises Directions, such as the "13th Five-Year" development guidance, have promoted the sustainable and healthy development of the domestic appliance industry. Another example is the "Technology Roadmap for China's Home Appliance Industry", which provides technical guidance for home appliance supporting companies and accelerates the pace of enterprise transformation and upgrading.
On December 13, 2019, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association publicly solicited opinions from the industry on the association's standard "intelligent toilet inlet water pressure stabilizer solenoid valve" and "intelligent toilet installation service specifications".
On January 10, 2020, the China Household Electrical Appliances Association formally released a series of standards for the "safety life of household appliances" formulated by China's household appliances industry.
Jiang Feng said that promoting the improvement of industry quality and efficiency is a more important task after the reform of the association. For this reason, the association's group standards are not only to meet the trend of "smart appliances", they are more about products, technologies and industrial common issues, and they are needed by service companies. For example, the standard of refrigerator horizontal transportation is to solve the pain points of product transportation. The standard of electric toothbrush is to fill the gaps in the standards of emerging home appliances in time, and enhance the ability of the home appliance industry to have more voice in the international market.
